Introduction: Zachary Spero

Hello my name is Zachary Spero. I am currently a junior at Rutgers University studying Finance and Economics in the business school. My main two interests are financials such as stocks, bonds, and the market as whole and sports. I avidly follow the New York Giants, Yankees, and the Lakers. This past summer I had the opportunity to intern at Morgan Stanley as a Wealth Management Analyst. At Morgan Stanley I figured out what I wanted to do with my life. Working under senior financial advisers I was able to see the ins and outs of being an advisor. The idea of being able help people manage their money properly and get themselves into a better situation seemed extremely rewarding to me. I really like to help people and a really wanted a job where I could make a difference in people’s life. When I think about myself, I instantly think about my ability to communicate and sell myself or whatever I need to promote at the moment. At Tau Kappa Epsilon, Aka TKE I was the recruitment chair and was extremely successful. I have also had jobs in the past that required me to be able understand what people wanted to hear and supply that to them.
Recently playing basketball at the College Ave Gym I ruptured to discs in my lower back and it was extremely painful. Rather than having surgery I decided to take the painful and hard route of rehab, a machine that stretches back out, and constant physical therapy. The problem was not the ability to rehab, but the ability to balance it out with my classes. When rehabbing I spent anywhere from three to four hours just stretching, strengthening, and working on getting my lower back to spot where I felt comfortable. I had to learn self-discipline and learn time management skills in order to balance everything out. It was really an extremely unexpected event and challenged me not only physically, but mentally. Ultimately I think it made me a stronger, more disciplined and organized person. It made me realize that my regular life was not that bad and simply showed me I could be that much more efficient if I always managed my time in such a way.
